I pretty much launch everything from the Terminal. I have an alias for 'open -A'. So I just type 'o Safari' to open it. I don't rip dvds so I don't use any of those apps. Thanks for sharing. I've been using colloquay is my IRC client - pretty happy with it. Rumours are that adium is going to roll out irc support any time now.
